How to heat things up in February: Get Healthy!
Since we’ve had a bit of a warm spell to help melt the snow away, it’s time to get off the couch, out of the house, and show yourself some love by getting healthy. There are a lot of things you can do to break the winter blues.
Get outside! Getting out in the sun stimulates your body to create vitamin D, an essential nutrient that helps fight inflammation and protect us from cancer. Sun exposure creates endorphins, boosting your mood.
Exercise! In the winter, we have a natural tendency to we eat more and do less. It takes a major toll on our health. Research has shown that regular exercise boosts the immune system helping you combat the nasty colds and flu that circulate this time of year.
Socialize! Winter cold brings isolation which makes us more depressed, more sedentary, and more unhealthy. Start taking an exercise class at the gym. We have several classes for all interests and intensity levels.
